How to treat dandruff:

1. Shampoo regularly - Use a mild shampoo or non-medicated shampoo. Gently massage it on the scalp to remove flaky skin. Rinse it well.

2. Use medicated shampoo if you have a severe case of dandruff - Look for a shampoo that contains zinc pyrithione, salicylic acid, coal tar or selenium sulfide. Nizoral 1% medicated shampoo gets rid of dandruff caused by fungi that live on your scalp. This shampoo can be purchased at over-the-counter pharmacies or sometimes it needs a prescription.

3. Stop using styling products - Hair sprays, styling gels, mousses and hair waxes cause hair and scalp to become oily or oily.

4. Eat nutritious foods - Eat foods that provide enough Zinc and B Vitamins that can help prevent dandruff.

5. Try using tea tree oil. This herbal helps reduce dandruff. Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves and is used as an antiseptic, antibiotic, and antifungal.
