DJ Loonyo is spreading fake news about coronavirus mass testing, according to netizens.

In the online video of their conversation with alias Mr. Hotly, Loonyo insisted that he "didn't believe in mass testing."

When a friend questioned the dancer-vlogger's understanding of the term, the latter said "trial and error" was mass testing.

“I just don’t know. It’s like, ‘Gagana ba ‘tong bagay na ‘to sa ganitong ano?’ I don’t know kung anong gagamitin nila sa mass testing, pero kung anuman ‘yung papainom nila, kung ano ‘yung papagawa nila, it’s a trial and error. That’s why it’s mass testing,” ”said Loonyo, with real name Rhemuel Lunio.

“Kaya kawawa ‘yung magi-intake, kawawa ‘yung maga-undergo nun kasi it’s not 100% proven. It shouldn’t be mandatory; it should be encouraged. Depende na sa’yo kung gusto mong i-test ‘yung sarili mo or gusto mong paniwalaan ‘yung ano nila. But for me, why would you test me? I’m a human being, I will react kung ano ‘yung papainom mo sa’kin. Pa’no ‘pag ‘yung papainom mo sa’kin, magre-react nang medyo malala ‘yung katawan ko? So I’m dead,” he said.

Hotit replied: "That's crazy."

The DJ added, "It's just a different name, but mass testing, rapid testing, COVID testing, that's one thing: they just want to prove if it's gonna work or not."

From what I heard, Hotit was not going to get a virus test.

According to the group “Scientists Unite Against Covid-19,” the definition of mass testing is free and accessible RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) testing for all who need it, and timely testing without a backlog or delay the result.

Not all Filipinos are expected to test: targets subjected to the COVID-19 test are all encountered in confirmed or probable cases (whether they have the virus or not); all frontline healthcare workers; and vulnerable populations or high-risk communities.

Meanwhile, experts have previously said that rapid antibody tests differ from RT-PCR.

In the rapid test, only the antibodies released by the body are detected to suppress the virus. The result is faster but it is not always reliable and doctors are warning of possible fake results.

Meanwhile, in RT-PCR testing we detect SARS-CoV-2 or the virus that causes COVID-19. The result is longer but the result is accurate.
