Two of the eight seafarers that hit Iligan City on April 29 were discovered with coronavirus antibodies after undergoing a rapid test in their hometown.

Antibodies are proteins that are released by the immune system that help the host withstand any foreign invasion of its body such as vacteria, viruses or toxins.

According to Bangsamoro parliament member Zia Alonto-Adiong in the Inquirer, one of the seafarers was from Wao, Lanao del Sur while the other was a resident of Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.

Both are at the quarantine facility.

Eight overseas Filipino workers arrived in the Philippines aboard the M / V St. Michael the Archangel of 2GO Shipping.

They were among 305 seafarers stranded in Manila and transported to their hometowns under the “Back-Province” program.
