The public disagreed with the arrest of residents of Sitio San Roque, Barangay Pag-Asa, Quezon City for protesting EDSA.

Residents gathered at EDSA on April 1 to call for local government assistance as some of them have not received any assistance since the Central lockdown.

Some netizens are angry, rather than confined, should provide the ones they need.

@markytagala: “Instead of giving the help they need, the residents of Sitio San Roque were met with violence. Do you really expect a starving community to just stay at home and wait for the assistance that takes forever to arrive? If so, might as well kill them. #Help Not Locked Up. ”

@ FranciswithaG16: “These people are just voicing out their needs. If they don't do this, they'll be left to die. Where’s the compassion? Where are the ears that are there to listen? This is just heartbreaking. Poor the poor people again. #Help Not Locked Up. ”

@melodyriverwho: “Meanwhile, a sitting senator who endangered the lives of health care workers and other people by lying about his condition and going grocery shopping when supposed to be on self-quarantine is still at large and was treated with“ COMPASSION ”. #HOPEFULLY. ”
