23 Italian doctors died because of Coronavirus - GazeFeed

The numbers are still getting higher day by day. Coronavirus chooses no exceptions and no excuses, in which even doctors get killed by this disease. Losing doctors and nurses getting killed by this coronavirus makes the situation even more heart-breaking. 

As of March 24, 2020, there are already 23 doctors died in Italy fighting to defeat this newly discovered disease, corona-virus. Italy is one of the hardest-countries who got hit by the virus. Recently, the situation gets even more critical day by day as there are more people getting infected. 

19 of the doctors who died from the virus worked in the Lombardy region, (the worst-hit region in Italy) the others worked in Marche, Emelia Romagna and Naples. 

By this time, the reports of Italian federation of Doctors, there are around 4,824 of workers got infected by COVID19. The Federazione Nazionale degli Ordini dei Medici Chirurghi e degli Odontoiatri (FNOMCeO) listed already the names of all doctors and surgeons who have died the this pandemic (COVID19). 

Front-liners like them, doctors, surgeons, and nurses or healthcare workers have higher risk in getting infected and more likely to show worse symptoms if they get infected. Especially that they lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, gowns are also one of the primary needs and priority when facing infected patients. 

Italy has close 64,000 confirmed cases of COVID19, with 6,077 deaths. Medics are now forced to select in which patient they will prioritize for treatment. The number of deaths in Italy are now more than the number officially reported in Hubei, China where the first infection occurs and was discovered.
