"Malunggay Corn Soup with Egg" - GazeFeed

Malunggay is also known for its nutritious content, and we decided to put a twist in this low-key yet very yummy food that we all deserved! 

What are the Ingredients? 

1 Tablespoon of Vegetable oil

1 Medium red onion (Peeled, sliced-thinly)

5 Cups of Chicken broth or 1 (One chicken bouillon cube dissolved in 5 cups water)

4 Small ears white and purple corn (Husked and kernels cut from cob)

1 Large egg

1 Cup of Malunggay leaves

Add a little bit of salt to taste and ground black pepper for better results




How is the process of cooking?

1. Prepare your pan and heat oil. Add onions and using scoop, saute it until it softened. 
2. Add your chicken stock, corn, corn cobs and simmer it for about 10 minutes or you can just monitor and look for the corn's color if it is already yellowish or not. You can use spoon to scoop a piece of corn and check if it is soft or ready. 
3. Remove the corn cob and season it with salt and pepper to witness the best result. Sprinkle the malunggay leaves on the top of the soup and let it in for about 5 minutes. 
5. Serve it hot to enjoy more!
